The monday ERT team
At the monday.com Foundation, we are constantly inspired by the innovative ways our aid partners use our platform to solve real-world challenges. In this blog, we’ll explore how Evara Health, a nonprofit healthcare provider in Florida utilized monday.com to maintain essential healthcare services after two back-to-back hurricanes in 2024 – Hurricane Helene in September and Hurricane Milton in October. We’ll discuss how the monday.com platform helped streamline communication, track employee safety, and provide support to the community during a time of crisis.
Evara Health is a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, accessible, and affordable healthcare services to underserved communities in Florida. It strives to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their background or financial situation, have access to the care they need.
In 2024, Evara Health faced the challenge of responding to two major back to back hurricanes - Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton - that caused widespread damage to the Tampa Bay area. Both hurricanes led to severe flooding, evacuations, and significant infrastructure damage. The intensity of the hurricanes presented a unique challenge for healthcare services, as they needed to ensure the safety of their employees while continuing to provide essential care to the community.
During Hurricane Helene, which resulted in severe flooding and evacuations, monday.com’s digital tools allowed Evara Health to reach out to 98% of its employees and document their needs within 24 hours. This quick response enabled Evara Health to assess employee safety and rapidly mobilize resources, ensuring that healthcare services could resume without delay.
The second hurricane, Hurricane Milton, was extremely destructive, with category 4 high winds, severe flooding and debris compounding the damage. Despite the scale of the disaster, Evara Health was able to quickly track the locations of employees, their evacuation plans, and their expected return times with these digital tools. Within 72 hours of the hurricane’s impact, Evara Health successfully accounted for 95% of their employees, ensuring their safety, and that healthcare operations continue as efficiently as possible.
The ability to assess everyone’s urgent needs, whether for home repairs, childcare, food, or transportation, helped employees manage the impact while ensuring that they continue their vital work with their communities.
The partnership between Evara Health and mondayERT highlights how the right technology can empower organizations to respond swiftly to crises, manage their workforce effectively, and ensure that essential services continue even in the most challenging circumstances. Having a system for tracking, communication, and data analysis enabled Evara Health to safeguard employees, support the community, and maintain healthcare operations despite the back to back devastation.
